About FakeLife

Fakelife is a clothing company founded on the non-business principal of earning a profit to give away. Proceeds from shirt sales help fund loans for small business entrepreneurs living in developing countries.

Around the world many creative, intelligent people are mired in poverty because they lack access to capital. Small loans or “microloans” given to families living in poverty to start or expand their own business can make the difference between economic entrapment and the realization of their dreams. A loan as small as $50 can provide the poor with the opportunity to work themselves out of poverty. Their small businesses are permanent, sustainable improvements that create independence instead of relying on external aid. As businesses grow, livelihoods improve, and dignity is restored. Clients find that their increased income enables them to provide more nutritious and regular meals as well as improved housing and education for their children.

Fakelife, encouraged by a handful of bands with both a level of talent unseen in recent years and a refreshing and humbling world view, is partnering with a few select artists to help raise funds and bring awareness to global poverty.

Microfinance can be a powerful force in changing the world for the better. We ask for your support in this challenge by purchasing a shirt, telling others about Fakelife and encouraging the bands that support us.
